Anyone have thoughts on Aiken Electric Co-op on Palmetto 800. I have their TG plugged in but do not hear any traffic. I live in the Swansea area and should be able to hear them on Salley, Sandy Run and Lexington. Trucks still have 800 Mhz antennas. Wonder if they went digital or changed vendors. - Tim

There is the strong possiblity that they are on the Santee Cooper 900MHz trunked system. Many Electric Coops share this system.

I found this list under Jasper County.
008 Aiken 936.66250 937.66250 Backup CC 938.66250* CC-939.66250*

Just realized a slight discounnect. Check the Santee Cooper list for a tower near you, not sure which location would be closest to you.

Aiken Electric

I am close to Columbia, Sandy Run and Orangeburg Santee sites. I hear very little traffic, what I do hear seems to be unrelated to Lower Lexington and Aiken Counties which is the Aiken Electric area.

I agree with Billy, try the SC PSA system. Control channels in Aiken county might be 937.7375, 938.1625, 939.7125, 937.7375 and 939.6625. In Lexington Co., try 939.2000 and 938.7000.

The Palmetto 800 talkgroups for Aiken Electric posted in the database are based on some pretty old trunker data. Very well could be outdated and no longer accurate. I had 1 more in addition to those in the database, 5776. Try scanning local sites in open mode and look for active talkgroups with values below 6000. There are probably a lot of active SCE&G groups too, and it'll take some listening to figure out what is what.

Good luck, and make sure to post what you find.

Thanks Brian,

Santee Cooper is probably the least monitors system in the state. It is mostly for use by the State owned Santee
Cooper entity that provides electricity. I do not know their full range, but where ever they are, their radio system is.

Here in the Lowcountry Palmetto Electric Co-op is on it. The RR listing show a couple others, I think many are there

I downloaded the codeplug data from one of Aiken Electric Coops radios about 2 weeks ago. They're definitely on 900mhz and I'll try to post the freqs. and talkgroup info in the next few days.
