Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9B206 Safari/7534.48.3)

Does anyone know if the Air Canada trunked system at Pearson is still operational? The RR database says it was last updated in November 2011 but when I was out at the airport this morning I picked up nothing. No talk groups, no control channel.

Highly doubtful. Last I saw, Air Canada employees were all carrying Motorola i305 radios, so I would assume they're on the Harmony system like everyone else these days.

Interesting - several years ago I tried to listen and also checked its licenses and a bunch of the frequencies had been dropped and picked up by TELUS iDEN, and I got zero activity at the passenger terminals, just as jonesy said.

However, the licenses are there again. I didn't try tuning in to it in July, thinking it was gone and replaced with the Harmony stuff.

Confirmed. The system is active, but I can't hear it from 401 & Weston Rd. Along the 409 it started coming in scratchy, arrived at Carlingview Dr around 1pm today and no hits at all in about 15min of listening ! Drove to Orlando Dr (Wendys) and it was non stop action. I think, you have to find a sweet spot around YYZ to listen to this tsys.

Yup, you beat me to it! I took a slide by the airport last night and you're right, the system is still alive. My 396 wasn't able to pick it up reliably until I got to around Eglinton on the 427.

Thanks for the info. I'm at Jane / Wilson and nothing was coming through.

Thought I'd also mention that there were some tgid that popped up as wildcard on my pro 106; 748, 752, 672, 624. Probably others that I didn't write down. The talk was all the same about passengers, luggage, flight/gate, standbys etc...

I've downloaded the system from RR into FreeScan and uploaded it to my 996XT and 15T and neither picked it up while I was at the airport. Weird. I wonder if my programming is off somehow. How do you guys have it programmed in?

I just dumped all the frequencies in as if they were control channels. Not sure which one lit up.

Use the Splinter System setup.

EDIT: Maybe a DB Admin can add that instruction in the Air Canada page.

I've added that instruction, your Honour

Usually the disclaimers on ads are "don't try this at home", I think I'll have to review my programming and give it a shot. Thanks for pointing this out. :)

Wow, having changed that on my 346XT I'm now picking up this system in Richmond Hill. It's very faint but just strong enough that I can run Unitrunker on it. Helps that I'm seven storeys up, I guess.

Thanks for the help getting this working,

Rob

I've noticed that the control channel today is 853.0500 if that helps anyone.

Let the HomePatrol do it's thing this afternoon on Discovery Mode and logged these un-ID talkgroups between 3 - 4 pm

336,464,576,672,688,704,752,768,816,832,880,960, 976.

Other observations, tg 272 Baggage Runner has the most traffic. All fifteen freq. were being used and today's control channel is 852.8250

I need some help with this one guys........I have programmed it into my 346 through radioreference.......Changed the band plan to Splinter....still nothing. I am in the Dixie and Bloor area in mississauga, quite close to the airport actually. And I am up 7 floors as well.

Anything else I should be changing?
