Aircare 5 isn't dispatched out of the Fairfax office like Aircare 4. I know here in Warren County we use Aircare 4 1-3 times a week. They have been a great assest to our system since they have came to the area.

Aircare uses 462.975 (pl-94.8) This is dispatched from Fairfax Hosp.Also using the Fairfax Co Radio system on 800mhz.They use 9b. I am a Vol Fireman in Fairfax co.I have alot of inf for the Co Radio systems,also I used to work in the radio shop for fairfax Co.

Exactly. They are dispatched through alpha-pagers & switch up to the appropriate on-scene frequency. We use them a lot too- great to work with.

Air Care 5 Photo

I took this yesterday at UVa Hospital. Pegasus was on the pad with their doors still open and AC-5 had to circle for a minute. This allowed me to get around the corner on the street by the pad just as they were coming straight at me.

BTW, it looks like N5UV has been in the shop a while as they are using the loaner 222HX.

Air Care 5 at Weyer's Cave (Shenandoah Airport) is now dispatched from Fairfax via their new ROIP network that was recently implemented by ARINC, Inc of Annapolis, MD.

AirCare got new freqs assigned from the FCC a few months ago. I have not programmed any of them yet to see if their active or what I might hear.

They are active. The repeater is installed at their hangar with a rooftop antenna. They have been using the channels for several months.
