I'm hearing Air Evac communications on 158.400 w/ a DPL tone of 072. I'm not sure if it's licensed for anywhere near OKC. Any ideas? Maybe someone will give it a listen. It's probably relatively close because I'm using the stock antenna on my 246T and I'm indoors.

Ummm...the database shows that to be the Elk City tower.

That's the elk frequency, but the dcs they use here is 051.

I was picking up OKC PD from here in Elk all morning. Good scanner weather!

Hence the question -- different tone...
Generally frequencies are licensed, tones are not. I would still think it's the Elk City base, wouldn't you? It wouldn't be the first time an agency changed tones for one reason or the other.

Another possibility is Air Evac's itinerant license that they can use anywhere
Wow, what a license... "Continental US". Now that would be cool to have. It looks like that allows for a portable repeater as well.

Easy to get, just takes an application. UHF, VHF, they are available all across the
band.

Biggest thing is you can operate for more than a year at any one location. And
interference is an issue.
