• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Cool... now if only we can get the elusive Air Evac (Lifeteam) 10 out of Hop-town....
(Phil... many scanners will decode the tone for a given freq....for the PRO 96 and 97 set the mode to CT and if you get nothing during the tx then switch it quickly to DC while they are talking.... you have either the PL or DPL for the freq then... this is a simple explanation there are some tricks to it also--pm me with your questions)

Or put the saem freq in twice, one for Ct scan, and one for DC scan
One thing I like about the 396t, is automatically find out either or...

Actually, a very valid point.... if there is a preveious "search" tone in the slot on CT it won't hear the DC tx and vice-versa.... so that is the better way to find it.....
