Is there an upgrade for the home patrol 1 antenna to get better air frequency reception? Is the original home patrol antenna just as good? Where is the Home Patrol forum?Thanks Ron

You can improve air band by adding an fm trap between the scanner and antenna. Some adaptors will be required.

You haven't said if you can have an outside antenna - a simple ground plane antenna cut for 126MHz ouside will be far better than any 'back-of-set' whip antenna or duckie.

Even set up inside the house, closet, attic, whatever, it will be an improvement over the standard antenna across the bands.

Darticus...I know this is past the left field fence(more like shuttle bus parking)...but when I've been restricted as to what type of antenna/where to place it, I've resorted to unplugging devices that use a ballast/switching power supply to reduce the noise floor. Is it a permanent fix, no, but it worked for that rf I just had to have. Especially with AM.
