Does anyone have the frequency guide "Air Scan"? by Tom Kneitel If so, does this book have alot of frequencies for Alabama? Also, is it a good reference guide?
The most authoritative as well as current U.S. airfield directory publications I've used are the "Airport Facility Directories" (AFD's) and IFR-, VFR-Supplements published by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. The AFD's come in seven volumes, with Alabama in the Southeast US volume. Check out www.naco.faa.gov/ecomp, then click on FAA/NACO Aeronautical Products Cagalogs / Supplements Charts & Publications / Airport Facility Directories. Each volume is only $4.20.
While this info is not in the book, Airnav.com has the airport's unicom on 122.800 MHz. Here's a link to the info on this airport. http://www.airnav.com/airport/KHAB
