Using my Icom R30, I put all the frequencies in memory from the RR database for entire state. Was doing great until about a week ago. Now half the stations are keyed up and signal strength is at max. Can still hear pilots talking to the tower but that keyed tone makes it harder to listen. Haven’t tried my 436 yet to see if it’s still there but keyed up is only on a few frequencies, not all. Am using a diamond D220R indoors close to the ceiling. Since using this, I can actually listen to the St. Cloud tower talk to planes incoming. Suggestions?

Something local ( Frequency Generatiing) or in the house is pretty wide and effecting the radio.
Move the antenna to a window or just to another location and see if the signal
drops....
I cant use Pre amps where I like because of the Local FM station a few miles from me over drives everything.

Nothing has change in or around my house. Plus, it’s only a few of the frequencies doing this, not all. Would say 3. But it does change day to day to different frequencies. Have moved antenna around with same issue. Am hoping to have an outdoor antenna up by end of next month, still deciding on which way to go.

I had a few R1 s. And a R2 I found the
The R2 to get over whelmed when I went to one part of my city ended up switching to a Uniden 125 for my aircraft monitoring. I could not put an external antenna on the R1 with out the local Fm station wiping it out across everything in the air band

It doesn't have to be something inside your house. It could be a neighbor or some other outside influence. Or perhaps something did change in your house which you are unaware.

I use a high gain pre-amp with an FM notch filter for my radios with an FM broadcaster 0.8 miles away. Cheaper notch filters skirts attenuated VHF aero too much. Now I use (sometimes two) https://www.minicircuits.com/pdfs/ZBSF-95+.pdf ($100 but worth it for me) that was chosen after buying and trying every other one I could find. (Ever scanner user should have a notch filter...if not interest in VHF aero, a cheap one might do.)
