Chargers, cameras, shavers and radios are easily identified on x-ray when you have been trained at identifying them. I would not say they are ignoring anything. What gets scrutinized is when you have multiple items layered on each other in the packing that requires a little more finesse when attempting to identify things.

TSA is not concerned with radios. They are looking for specific prohibited items that have been identified as potential threats to a flight crew or the safety of the flight.

I have taken my hand held radios with me many of times,and I do bring my metal detector with me never had a problem with TSA with anything.

I'm going to go to Dayton this year,and I'm thinking about bringing my ICom 7000 and a little tar heal antenna,and a mag mount I may put it in my carry on stuff or check it in I well have to wait and see
