AirCare Team Helo Damaged In Crash

Orlando Regional AirCare Team helicopter was damaged early this morning in Osceola County.

Helo landed on US 192 near SR 417 interchange to pick up a pedestrian struck by a car. While on the ground, a presumed DUI passed through barricades set up in the road and struck the rear of the chopper, causing sufficient damage so that the aircraft had to be towed to a nearby parking lot for inspection.

Hi Larry,

After living here for almost a year (came from PA/Southern NJ), I have to say that Florida has the worst drivers anywhere.

We have a condo in the area of this accident everybody is in too big of a hurry. Never looking out for anyone they are in too big of a hurry trying to get more out of the vacation dollar.

You got that right! Our condo is also right off 192 very close to Disney. The intersection of 192 and Sherberth Rd/Entry Point is a ugly disaster. People use that intersection as a shortcut into the Disney parks, and they don't pay attention to who has the right of way half of the time (that or they're too busy jacking around with their phones to even care about anyone else around them).

It's really bad in the Central part of the State. Tampa and Daytona isn't quite as bad.
