Very unfortunate situation. Always an risk with flying, but it seems like he was having some trouble seeing perhaps? Only assuming by him asking ATC to turn up the lights if possible. Definitely outside of my scope so I’m certainly not one to judge the pilot’s ability. Is there any assumptions as to what caused the crash? Clearly the pilot knew what was about to happen judging by the radio transmissions.
Not a good day and I definitely have sympathy for the families. Hopefully they can find some peace.

Aviation accidents are usually a combination of a number of bad decisions.
Such as:
Desire to reduce taxi time by changing approach at the last few minutes of flight.
Spatial disorientation in IMC conditions.
Aircraft not configured correctly (flaps not set correctly increasing the stall speed).
And accelerated stall in that tight turn to final.
We should know in about a year.
