aircraft frequencies, dade county area

hello,
I want to send my son a scanner to listen to airplanes in the dade county area. ft lauderdale, miami and any military. ill be getting a bct125at and programming it for him. if anyone local can help me out, he lives in the homestead area.

As he listens to the frequencies you provide, tell him to write down and program any frequencies he hears the controller or aircraft mention.

'Receiver coverage includes 88–520 MHz FM/AM according to the appropriate band plan" i copied this from the Btech website. i;m thinking that it does cover the air bands.

Baofeng - BAOFENG BF-F8HP frequency range

Specs in manual are 65-108, 144-148, & 420-450. on YouTube there are some vids showing programming outside this range for scanning. 150’s, 460+. Anybody know what‘s going on?

Steer clear of a BOWELfang. Pick up the BC125AT instead. Search the forums and you'll unearth hundreds or maybe thousands of rave reviews on air band

I could not find in the user manual that the Baofeng supports AM mode. Regardless of whether it receives 118-136 or any part of 225-400, AM mode is required. The Baofeng is not the proper tool for aviation monitoring. Stick with the BC125AT.

Also, these Chinese boxes of junk, if they do cover VHF airband in AM mode, it is always 118-136 Mhz. The band was extended to 137 Mhz in 1990. Could you miss much? Yes! There are voice channel assignments there for ATC.
