Airnav RTL-SDR set-up

I have the Airnav yellow SDR stick RadarBox VHF Airband FlightStick : Amazon.ca: Electronics with this antenna VHF/UHF 118-136 Vehicle Antenna, Aviation Frequency Range, Long Whip Antenna, Flexible BNC Interface Stainless Steel 2.15dB Antenna Radios Antenna, Retractable 27cm-110cm/ 10.6-43.3in : Amazon.ca: Electronics
Not sure which BNC/SMA adapter is required. Should it be suitable for the frequency range or just a generic? Also any feedback and/or comparison with a RTL-SDR variant or Nooelec is much appreciated. Thanks..

I bought some off of Amazon for my 1090 ADSB/978 UAT dongles and they worked fine. At VHF its much less of a concern.
