There will be an airshow in GJ on Sept 21-23.

How can I find out what freqs will be carrying the most traffic?
The standard ones for the airport?
118.1
119.7
121.7
or is it likely to be something different?

Thanks

Bruce - does the GJC show have anything in common (as far as performers) with the BJC show last month?

Currently (10:45 local) picking up some chatter on Blue Angels Maintenance channel Bravo 139.8125 NBFM.
I have put an Air Show Special in the GJT online scanner that just includes APP/DEP, Tower, Ground and the Blue Angels at the moment. It will be changed as the search scanners pick up other frequencies. Blues are scheduled to practice between noon and 1400 and again after 1500 this afternoon.

After the first Blue Angels practice / terrain familiarization flight,
Maint Alpha 142.6125 67.0 NFM
Maint Bravo 139.8125 67.0 NFM
Solo 237.800 All Below AM
Circle 255.200
Diamond Out275.350
Box 284.250
Checklist 346.500
Bert 305.500

Might also put GJT tower 257.8 on the list for arriving military flights.

First full rehearsal starting at 1500 local.
My air feed had pretty good reception once I corrected the program in the scanner.

Please list any frequencies found. The main one to be listening for will be "Air Boss" in the VHF spectrum.

Bruce,
I programmed your list into my BCD396XT and have been sitting on my patio about 3/4 mile from the runway listening , and laughing.

Those pilots sure have a fun job, and based on the chatter between them they make it even "funner". About takeoff time they really get wound up and during some of the maneuvers their added sound effects are funny!

I did my programming before your last post and still have heard chatter on most of the freqs.

I used Freescan--------- Freg= your list, Tone=None, Mod=Auto, Audio Type=All

I'm new at this so don't know if I should go back and add the 67 and NFM to my program or not since I seem to be hearing them as is.

I certainly appreciate all the posted info. Thanks!

With the Mod on auto, the scanner should be putting it's self into NFM receive. I have just been a radio tech too long and don't always trust the auto settings ;-).
The tone of 67.0 will help reduce the false squelch breaks if you are getting any intermod. Where I live, on the edge of the Redlands (the pilot reported a 6 mile mark as he was abreast of my location) I have terrible intermod from every transmitter in the valley so I usually will use tones if I can find them.
It should be an interesting weekend, and you are welcome, glad you are having fun with the hobby.
