Hi Calgary guys,

I just put a new system in the DB for Airtel Wireless. Found it while I was looking for some other stuff. I'm too far away from the city to pick it up adequately, so I'm going on guesswork here.

The emissions on the TAFL are the same as the TELUS iDEN system, so I've marked it as an iDEN system. If someone can listen to the radio frequencies and confirm or deny this, it'd be great.

Probably where the users from the Nextcom trunk went..

Yesterday afternoon 1700 hrs. did hear some people talking on NextCom about Airtel and site lines to CBC ? from Deerfoot Inn. I believe user ID was 0-02-300. ? if they are installing Airtel hardware. Sorry, was busy doing other things so did not pay much attention. NextCom generally does not have interesting groups to listen to.

"CBC Bowness" is what they are calling one of their sites. It's not the CBC studios. The lat/long equates to a location behind the Totem store near 16 x Sarcee Tr NW.

"Deerfoot Casino" is another site - that's down near Deerfoot x Barlow, IIRC.

I had all the freqs in my scanner today when I traveled to the Westhills area. Dead silence; however, if people are still constructing the system, that's to be expected. I'm amused that they're using NextCom while they build their system - unless they're a partner company.

Sorry, sounds like the ID is 0-02-130. Now discussing NE Calgary.
