Has Alabaster PD started to encrypt it radios? Just curious. Thinking of getting my Dad a P2 scanner for Christmas.

Shelby county they should be on in the clear some encrypted but they should be okay for now they are on Alabama trucked system you should be able to pick it up

No Encryption. Make sure the scanner does Phase 2 and simulcast though.

Went thru there on I-65 Dec 29 and Jan 2 and still in the clear. I envy yall. Nashville drank the crypto kool aid. ☹️
