Alamogordo upgrading to better communications

Officers and other city services relie on critical communications throughout the day and night. A go ahead on upgrading the system was given by the Alamogordo city commission. Various p25 voting sites will be installed and added. Read further with good photo in article. The project will cost a estimated 450,000.00 dollars.

The equipment is there and ready. Just the sites need to be finished with installations and turned on. It is a switch to full p25 and voting. Further note a merged regional communications center is in the talks/planning for the entire county. This is a guaranteed unananomous plan as its been talked about for years with all the agencies inputting.

Alamogordo, NM city commission approves joint dispatch center

As said previously which it would pass. It has. To consolidate the county and city e911 system into one building. Building shown in article is the counties current 911 center, which few years ago replaced the dispatch office from the Sheriffs office.

One thing to add is the consolidation and voting sites. The vendor is motorola and you bet in time a trunking system will happen. Most likely within a 10 to 15 year time period or lte whichever is the newer technology. many don't want it within the rank and file but this is the direction it is going.

Testing of digital today while passing through for 30 minutes or so. When switched to the "new zone" it was all strapped on fire, police and ems. Just a FYI.
