BEE00 is the Moto default WACN. Unless requested otherwise or unless they decide it needs to be otherwise, Moto leaves the WACN as BEE00.

Receiving talkgroups 1 and 2.

Voice channels 853.3625 and 855.7125 lighting up today.

Voice decoding is very poor, despite very strong signals.

To answer a previous question: This is a Phase I system. I'd be surprised if they were simulcasting already as they are just beginning to test, but I suppose its possible.

Dunno. It's from the ULS. The license also states that the location is in Albany County, which made me suspicious as well. When I have a chance, I'll poke the coordinates into Google Earth and see where the marker ends up.

Well, the ULS coordinates put the "Greenville" site on Route 23 somewhere in the western part of Greene County. I don't know the area well enough to be sure which town or postal delivery area it is.

I am guessing as of now that T0101 is Corning Tower and T0102 is the Alfred E. Smith Building.

Rumor is that City of Albany will be moving to the new system first and it will be by mid to late December. I understand that they are testing in the city heavily at this point. I believe I head them testing on the UAlbany campus the other day. The information I got was 3rd or 4th hand at best. Can anyone else confirm this?

The City of Albany system is not online yet, the infrastructure still isn't built because of people complaining about the microwave links looking like mouse ears on the AE Smith Building. ....That and the asbestos they ran into when mounting it. Albany (City) will potentially be on line in late December or January. County is licensed for P25 phase II now also. A number of the Albany City channels will be encrypted...

Sav1350 the testing you heard at Suny Albany was on the Albany County System

When you say City of Albany system, is that a completely separate system or a separate simulcast site on Albany County's system? I had gotten the impression that this was going to be one large system that somehow encompassed City of Albany, Colonie, and the new Albany County System. However, I did notice that the City of Albany and Colonie had started licencing their existing frequencies for sites through out the county. Are these going to be independent systems or somehow connected either as separate simulcast sites or some other P25 interconnect such as ISSI, etc.

Also, when you say several encrypted channels, I hope that doesn't include primary dispatch channels? Oh well, we can hope anyways!

According to some knowledgeable local radio folk, the current City system BB37 (DPS) is already P25-capable. The City never got the radios switched over in their police or fire fleets because the money ran out and they couldn't find/get another grant. The mobiles are dual analog digital and need a minor adjustment to go digital (switch or jumper or something physical).

As long as your scanner is P25 capable, create a new P25 Trunk system and enter 859.7125 as the frequency for one site. Make sure the system is set to ID Search and you should be all set. I have a 996XT and that's all I have done so far. I also went through the ULS and entered every 800 MHz frequency the was a repeater output (higher than 850 MHz) and put it in a new conventional system so I could catch any other control channel that may pop up.

I've only heard phase 1 traffic so far. So my guess is phase 1. However, FDNY10-75 did note that the county is licensed for phase 2 as well. I don't have a phase 2 capable scanner and so I can not say for sure if there has been any phase 2 testing going on. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I think you can have a P25 trunking system that carries both phase 1 and 2 voice traffic.

The CC data indicate Phase 1 only.

I checked into the "mystery" site that the FCC database shows as "Greenville, ALBANY County" with a co-worker who grew up and lives in the hill towns. 6425 Route 32 is in Westerlo and has a Greenville mailing address. She says she believes the property is owned by a well-known hermit named Danny Bishop.

This location is nowhere near the location indicated by the lat/long coordinates in the ULS, so likely whoever did the paperwork messed up a number or two.
