Albemarle City PD's transmissions have disappeared. They were part of the Charlotte region Viper system. Have they gone to encryption, changed modes, frequency or what? Curious if anyone knows for sure?

The UHF law repeaters are no longer active for Albemarle, Stanly County, and Locust. All public safety in Stanly is on the Charlotte UASI radio system (not VIPER) and they are in the process of moving over to encryption for the law channels.

The only way to hear encrypted law enforcement traffic is to join the department and be issued a radio. ALL SCANNERS, as has been said over and over, will not allow you to hear the traffic.

The Database shows Stanly County and Albemarle on the UASI system. Shows Albemarle PD with two Talkgroup IDs. One encrypted, and one not. I am too far away to hear traffic affiliated with the site in Stanly County to check it out. Charlotte UASI Trunking System, Charlotte, North Carolina - Scanner Frequencies
