Thanks for whomever submitted these talkgroups for this system. Could that same person, or anyone else who knows, explain the abbreviated talkgroup descriptions? That is, what does the SA of SA1 stands for? Also what does EV of the EV1, NSD, FBO ISD, ECH, ECY, UPCOM, SD and ECG stand for? Thank you very much.

Lets accumulate all the Alb/Chv info in this thread

Even with all these TG's provided us, there will still be some info to process.

I came through Charlottesville today, and they have definitely NOT switched over. Tomorrow (8/14) is the backup date, though, and I did hear a fair amount of testing by Charlottesville FD and the Airport. I also saw an Albemarle police car near Crozet with its 800 antenna installed.

Fire testing was so detailed, that I was able to confirm that Dispatch and TAC's 2, 4 & 5 were exactly as listed in the database. Control channel is 857.2625 everytime I get in range. No control channels found among the freqs for the Carters Mountain site.

I also notice that nothing is listed as Dispatch for either Charlottesville or Albemarle police. I did see Charlottesville PD's reported "Tactical-1" pop up on the screen of my PRO-96 this afternoon.

Another question involves the local Sheriff. Do Charlottesville and Albemarle share a sheriff as well as a jail? Or if there are two sheriff's offices, will they share these TG's? I heard the main TG for Albemarle Sheriff used by "CS" units (numbered in the 40's I think) earlier this week for an matter that was clearly in the city. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Also, it might be good to check on Albemarle Fire TG 35122. This may be an erroneous TG#. I did notice, though, that 35312 was active today. Following their pattern, it would be a likely candidate for the real AFD TAC-3.

Kudos to whoever obtained and posted the TG data. Any clarifications appreciated.

BTW, will this be public safety only, or can we expect to look for UVA buses, Rivanna W/S, dog catchers, dump trucks, etc.

Update

Both C'ville and Albemarle have thier own sheriff's dept. Albemarle is much more active then C'ville. The "SA" stands for special assignment. There is no main dispatch titles channel for PD, it will be Tac1 or Tac2. UPCOM will probably the main dispatch channel for UPD. I am still trying to figure out the others. C'ville FD has been using the 800 and similcasting on Low Band still. No firm cut over date as of yet, but looks like maybe mid to end of this month. They were doing fail soft testing today. Also this system will only handle public safety agencies, no public works or anything like that, the "dog catchers" are on the PD channels, Albemarles radio desig are AP302,AP303 and AP304. C'ville city is CP91. I've been working on those ID's for quite awhile, looks like they all match up good, so far!

Nice work getting this all set up in advance, vafyrfiter.

Two questions:

1 - On the radio desig, AP302, 302, 304, & CP91, are these bases, channel #'s or mobile units?

2 - Will the old UHF freqs/systems be retained for backup, public works, MDT's etc.?

the AP & CP are unit designations. The old UHF freq will be used as back up. FD will simulcast on 46.46 and 46.26
