Alberta Marine Qestion

Anybody in the Calgary Area ever pick up the Marine Conventional Channels? I have never picked tem up on any of my scanner or transceivers even with the lowest squelch and distance.

So far the only Marine channel activity I have heard in Alberta yet was at Ghost Lake at busy times in the summer as well as at Waterton.

Indeed they are. There's very little need for marine operations in Alberta (I think some of the particularly large lakes have users who might use one or two frequencies), so marine channels are used to provide some breathing room in the VHF hi band. For example, Okotoks Fire's NXDN system is on 156.6, marine channel 12.
