Does anyone know the freq s/ talk group # for the Alberta Sheriff Highway Patrol (near Calgary), are they using Talk group or conventional analog ?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
Really?!?!Well, this afternoon I heard a couple of Sheriffs discussing this thread.
I personally know.Really?!?!
That alone is kind of odd. Is there a member on here that is a Sheriff or do they monitor this forum for some oddball reason??
I know of a few administrators who outright monitor this forum and few others  You don't have to be an active member to browse RR forums.Calgary Fire and Calgary EMS members may be part of this site/forum as a means of learning how to program their scanners, etc., but I can say with reasonable certainty there is no outright 'monitoring' of this forum by either agency's administration.
I suspect it is the same with many if not most of the agencies you describe.
Solicitor General! Oh that's rich..........Edmonton Police, Fire, Ambulance, RCMP Alberta K div. Alberta Sheriff's, IC, Calgary Police, Fire Ambulance. WCI, Glentel, West Can, Com Group Alberta, Motorola Canada, Tyco (Ma/Comm)
Alberta Solicitor General and Public Security Office, Service Alberta, WEM security, Intital Security, CB City. All media outlets Alberta wide, (Global, CTV, Corus......) Corrections Canada.......
Monitor this forum most likely to see what we know, or pretend to know.
SolGen (aka SGPS now) is the leading agency for the Sheriffs as well as the AFRRCS project. Them I don't doubt visiting the site/forum.Solicitor General! Oh that's rich..........
Hi Jay,SolGen (aka SGPS now) is the leading agency for the Sheriffs as well as the AFRRCS project. Them I don't doubt visiting the site/forum.
I do have a hard time believing the concept of agencies performing overwatch on us, though. With all due respect, Alberta and the rest of the country is nowhere near like Edmonton in terms of police secrecy and (whether justifiably so or not) paranoid scanner listeners.
Well, with a degree of certainty one of the reasons police in Edmonton in 2004, 05 (I think?! Gad, my memory is crap), went almost completely provoice digital and provoice encrypted (when they were almost completely clear EDACS) was because of "operational security" issues brought up by the Organizational Security section (who taken on this task, NOT the radio system admins) after seeing one too many web forum discussions. Not just here, but RIB, SS, all the other forums that were around. Believe me, the radio system admins are the ones who will NEVER speak of this sort of issue, because usually when it pops up it is a mistake they made...Calgary Fire and Calgary EMS members may be part of this site/forum as a means of learning how to program their scanners, etc., but I can say with reasonable certainty there is no outright 'monitoring' of this forum by either agency's administration.
