Good evening,

I am pleased to announced that Alberta's first amateur radio DMR repeater is now on the air.

Frequency is 440.8000 +5MHz Callsign VE6VPR CC 1 output approx 60w into duplexes. Currently on a 310-C4 facing east at about 40-45m elevation

This repeater is located at the same site as both the VE6HM analogue repeaters and the VE6KM DStar repeaters.

Currently getting programmed for various talk groups, but is on the air.

If in the area with a DMR repeater, locally we are using TG 2 TS 2

The linked talk groups are on TS 1 TG1 World Wide TG 3 North America are available as well. Currently

Looking forward to it! My DMR radio is in transit, not expected until next week.

Ray and James RID were posted last night. Gotta do some more programming tonight. Your RID is in my radio already!

I am really curious about DMR and how well it will work. I am an avid D-STAR user and can't remember the last time I was on analogue FM.

Please keep us posted on how things are going. May just have to invest in DMR if it looks like it will be used.

Can just barely pick up the repeater here at "The Office" in west Edmonton... but then again, this is indoors, in a somewhat-shielded building, on an analog Kenwood TH-D72 portable.

I can hear the repeater full scale from my 16th floor apartment at 86 St & Jasper Ave using my Uniden 996. Just hearing the data as the scanner doesn't decode DMR, but at least I am hearing it well.
