I am sure the guys above were just jerking your chain a little. As far as the actual call signs, I am not sure if anyone has them. Erik (abqscan) has most of the information that you can possibly want on his excellent site, so just refer to it. Do you already have your LPE programmed for the system? If not, I am not sure who can help you with that. :)

Errr, then how do you plan on monitoring the APD (or Bernillio Cnty, etc.)?

uh bud, they have the simulcast from trunk system. one is valley area command simulcast on 154.815, then westside area command simulcast on 155.850. rest of the area commands are on a EDACS provoice wide area but you only pick up the dispatch side, not the unit out in the field because they are digital. anyway you can pick both side up only the sunport janitor & other sunport op's but not the aviation police they are digital too.

uh bud, excuse me for trying to be helpful...

I guess I see why no one wanted to help you to begin with. Enjoy the fiesta. :x

In reality....abqscan.com does have the 10 codes for ABQ. They are located under "Trunk Systems" in the left frame.

Radio Shack "Police Call" also has them.

You will hear calls signs like this:

4 E(Edward)24, 3 D(David)20, 5 A(Adam) 26, etc.

The first # is the Area Command:

1- Westside
2- North Valley (AKA Valley)
3- Southeast
4- Northeast
5- Foothills

The letter is their team (shift)

and the last number is their beat.

For a more complete list, visit: http://www.abqpd.com/

The list can be found by going to Menu/Resources/Call Signs.

Also I'd like to point out that when APD works something like the balloon fiesta they don't use a regular dispatch channel like valley or westside (both of which you can hear with a regular scanner) but one of the event channels which are digital. So, baseball214, I doubt you'll be hearing very much police traffic regarding the balloon fiesta.

Enjoy the show, though!

hey loumaag!!
thanks for your help but are you going to the balloon fiesta?
No, we quit doing the ABQ Balloon Fiesta in 1984 (maybe 1985) and quit ballooning entriely in 1989.

Looks like APD is useing Event 2 on the TRS for Balloon Fiesta OPS and AFD is useing TAC 7 on the TRS for Fiesta ops, from what I can tell.

You got it Cowboy, but not much to listen to these last few days!!! At least not from the fiesta...listening to cars floating downtown was kinda different.

The call sign for the Albuquerque Police Dept. is: KKD428

You can still hear the valley and West side on an analog scanner.
