Auburn - Auburn University will turn over its police service to the city of Auburn in an effort to cut costs for both the school and the city. The university will pay the city about $2 million for the first year of services, which saves it about $400,000 in police expenses. The financial benefit to the city was unclear.

Auburn / AUPD Merger

This set-up will be interesting come football season.
I just hope that this merger does not screw traffic control planning
between the new combined PD and us (Alabama State Troopers).
We PCO's at the Opelika Trooper Post dread football season every year because of the traffic and related problems ( 80,000 plus + 22,000 plus + 20,000 plus = Headaches and Heartaches).

(PCO = Police Comunications Officer)

In the past years, the traffic control has been great in the Auburn area during football games. I enjoy going to Auburn and seeing the games when possible.

The relatives over in Clay County are dedicated Tiger Fans!

The area is beautiful down in that part of Alabama!
