ALEA Highway Patrol callsign T?

Most State Troopers use a call sign that begins with the letter of their Troop. Like Troop G troopers will use a sign like G123 etc. However, I’ve heard over the scanner several time of Troopers using a T call sign. There is no Troop T so what does T mean, commercial vehicle enforcement perhaps?

Could you have heard a C or D instead of a T? I've never heard of T series Trooper callsigns.

I believe the Motor Carrier Safety Unit troopers use the MC prefix.

Im 99% sure it’s T. I’ll listen more closely next time. I seem to only hear the T callsign when listening to Birmingham Troop G dispatch. Most of them are G, or George, but occasionally a T will be called out.

The ALEA Facebook page posted an item regarding an enforcement initiated by their motorcycle units in the Montgomery, Quad Cities, and Grove Hill. Might that be the "T" units you were hearing?
