BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Alert Light Setting

Hi all;

I've had the 436HP for a couple of days now and am getting the lay of the land. With my old Rat shack I had it programmed that the police talk groups would flash in blue alerts, fire in red, medical in yellow, etc. Not quite sure how to do this with specific talkgroups with this scanner. The manual speaks about using custom alerts to do this on pages 5 & 6.

Is there a way to use the Sentinel software to pick out Apco-25 talkgroups and assign colors too them. I'm sure I'll figure it out sooner or later but for the old pro's with this receiver I'd appreciate the advice.

Yes in Sentinal there is a Alert light option for each channel/tg. You can set it on the scanner through the menu but sentinel is more efficient

Thanks....figured it out in Sentinel. I made a favorites list but then discovered the edit feature to get into the specific talk groups to make the change. These scanners have a pretty steep learning curve.
