Hi all,
I am wondering if anybody knows if it is possible to set alert tones for I-calls like you can for talk groups and frequencies?

I have my 396T programmed on the TMRS EDACS system with alert tones set to tone 7 and level 5 on some talk groups so that when they become active I am alerted., by doing this I can have the 396T sitting with the volume on 0 so I don’t hear anything until the alert tone at level 5 comes on and I then turn it up, would it be possible to do the same with I-calls?

As someone who gets quite a few "help me" PMs, I can say that just about any PM that you send with a question would likely be better to be posted so others who might know more about the particular problem can give the best answer. Plus the answer would be visable to others who do a search or see the thread in question.

Plus some of us do not clean out our PM box as often as we should and it gets full :D

Oh, the ability to load a small MP3 and have that be played when you get the particular "match" you are looking for would be cool

Minitor V tones coming out of a scanner? My phone can have them, why not a scanner? (don't worry Paul, that can be for a future-future scanner).

hey no problem there Grog (love your username BTW, very cool :)). Mabey you can help, shorty verson, i want to program i-calls on my `396T, can i set them up just as i would a streight TGID? There is a LTR system here in WI that i monitor from time to time when i`m in that area of the state, and they use i-calls. Also, if i program a i-call wildcard, how do i enter the number (what format), is it something like, say 1 followed by zeros (i.e. 10000)? Thanks! N9NRA

I'm not aware of LTR supporting i-calls (at least, scanners that support i-calls only do so for MOT, P25, and EDACS systems...).

Your welcome...

I'll Just put it here in case anyone else needs the info..

Enter it like a new TalkGroup...

To enter a EDACS I-Call ID, press (.)no once then enter the ID and press E/yes.
To enter a EDACS wildcard (receive any) I-Call ID, press (.)no once then enter 0 and press E/yes.

youll probably want wildcard as you dont know the exact wildcard number
