Does anyone know if Alexandria is in the process of Rebanding?

I am using a BC250D and it is currently not trunk tracking Alexandria Public Safety. The unit is however finding the control channel. I am also hearing traffic in the conventional mode.

they shouldn't be rebanding yet.

I have a BC250D also... maybe try the Control Channel only mode if it is a Motorola Type II system and see what voice freqs come up when someone talks.

Other than that I am not sure.

Thank you for the link.

It is very possible that this is just a reception issue (which has always been a problem at my location). Still Northern VA (and Fairfax County in particular) are said to be the first systems that will be rebanded so I am just waiting for it to happen. I am also begining to look at new scanners.

My problem was with Alexandria but Fairfax County is said to be one of the first systems to be rebanded. Since Alexandria is next to FC, my thinking is that Alexandria will also be rebanded sooner than later.
At any rate, my issue had nothing to do with rebanding. Turns out, I had serverals of the Alex talk groups "locked out". Works great now.

Thanks again for the help.

Yea, I have forgotten before that I had conventional freqs locked out due to electronincs in my dorm room. Then I miss possible listening action. LOL

I won't be back there until Thanksgiving, but I monitor both systems when I am - about a mile south of Exit 1, so Alexandria isn't far away. I hope they haven't rebanded by then - or by Christmas, when I'll be there again.

I think that Alex PD is using more CAD then voice

there was a problem in one of the schools today and the only voice transmittions I heard from APD was to let the dispatch know when the kids were off the bus.

Wanna bet the old Alex freqs will also apply with the new SmartZone except for 860.8375? Replaceing it with 856.4375 still provides four CC's and doesn't require asking for a waiver, thus a flawless rebanding.

Alexandria is getting a new system. If memory serves, they will be adding two more sites and will have ASTRO digital capability.
