Hello All.
I would like to hear from any users of this Rig.
The LED on the front is suppose to be off by Default.
I want it on by Default.
I have read the manual from back to front and it does not mention anything about the Green front LED.
Anyone who can give me the info would be greatly appreciated.

On my DX-SR8T transceiver, the green LED is on when a signal is being received or when the squelch is open. This LED turns red on TX.

There is a way to have the led in the on position.
I just cannot track it down.

The colour/color of the LED can be changed between Red and Green depending on what you want/desire.

On the DX-R8 *receiver*, menu #12 allows for Off - Green - Red.

Push and hold Function key to access menu. Use up/down arrow keys to menu 12. Rotate VFO knob for your choice. Push Function to exit.

The funny thing is that you won't find this option in the Transceiver version! Argh.

Thing is, when the led is on, it is like a laser-beam into your eye. On the transceiver version where it can't be turned off, I had to resort to using a small double-layer of blue painters-tape covering it. (So I don't gum up the faceplate).

The option is shown on P.56 of the manual, BUT could see how easy it would be to miss it in the small diagram.
