Alittle help or advise

Hello, new to the site, ihave a Radio shack Pro51 scanner and its
pretty useless now, i"m going to buy a new scanner but would like some
advise on which one out there will cover all of downriver and monroe co.
I also see some threads about having problems with the radio shack pro96
with regards to Detroit switching over. Any help or advise is great, thank u in advance.

I have a BC796D and a Pro-96 - neither will receive the Detroit system very well.
For Digital your choices are:
PRO-96
PRO-2096
BC796D
BC296D
BCD396T

I am partial to the Uniden BC 296D. But any of the above mentioned scanners will do the trick. Depends on how much you want to pay. I got mine off of Ebay for $375 and it was pretty much brand new. Radio shack has the Pro-96 for about $450. Palco Electronics on Eureka Road in Southgate offered to pay my sales tax if I bought the 296 from them. It is about $515 there. Ebay might be your best bet, it was for me.

A Little While Back I Read A Thread From Someone Who Said They Were Receiving Detroit PD/FD W/ No Problems...With His PRO-2096...Can Anyone Verify This?...If Its True, I'm Going to RS and Pick One Up....Thanks...

Actually when you get inside of the tower located at Denby HS, they are get a lot better but when you are north of that tower they are very choppy.

But I believe it was with a PRO-96. It sounds like it works south of 6 mile rd.
