alittle help with this frequencie

hello how would this frequencie be put in 867.2125 it shows that it is p-25 in the database, i dont think this is gigital i believe analog its shows its state&county police talk im using the gre-500. if i use tgrp theres two p-25 manual and auto do i use these, or is it something completly diffrent. do i need to enter it threw conv. just trying to find out how to enter this thanks in advance for youre help

867.2125 Talk 1 is a "digital" conventional frequency. This is programmed separately from the trunked system. It has a range of about 1 mile(no repeater.

I programmed this frequency into a separate bank of my scanner and set it as EDACS because as it does not have a TGID (Talk Group ID) Setting it to digital makes no sense and before I set it like that I got some advice from someone who knows the system and that is what they told me to set it as.

I hope that helps I have yet to activate it as it is on the same bank in my scanner as the ITACs which ar eonly used if the trunked system goes down so I have not had to use them.

Roach:

The person who told you to program Talk 1 as EDACS (which is a type of "trunking" protocol), obviously knows nothing of the State of Delaware trunking system. Delaware"s system is a Motorolla type 2 3600 trunk system with digital voice. Talk 1 and Talk 2 are "conventional" Motorola digital channels(p25 Common Air Interface), they are "not trunked" they should be programmed the same way as ITAC's with the audio set as "digital". Both talk channels rely on the power output of the transmitter.
Range is usually a mile, basically line of sight. DELDOT can be heard on Talk 1 when they have flaggers closing one lane of a two lane road. Most traffic heard on the ITAC's will be radio techs testing radios. However, in Kent County there is a school using one of the ITAC channels for school ops.

How can they be set to digital if they do not have a TGID? the ITACS do not either so what do I set the mode for? I didn't think an analog radio could be set in digital mode. The MOT and CONV modes all present static and stay on one channel all the time even when ITAC is not in use. The only mode I get it to scan correctly on is EDACS and open not closed on the EDACS setting.

I have a PRO-96 and the person who had it before me was the one who told me how to enter them in since i reprogrammed it when I got it from him. He said it was previously programmed with EDACS as those frequencies.

I'm not familiar with the PRO-96 but I think you program the mode as FM and it will decode it if it's analog or digital. It's a conventional freq so you don't want to program it as EDACS Trunked.

JRM I tried FM and it holds as static and doesn't scan the only one which scans the bank and th freques within is EDACS.

Has anyone with a PRO-96 gotten this to work? If so what did u use as the settings? MOT, CONV, etc. ane either open or closed?

You use FM, just as stated above. If you set to any other mode, it will never be scanner. It is getting static because you need to turn your squelch knob.

I'm guessing you have your squelch set properly maybe try turning it to max, the only other thing I can think of is you may be getting interference from something close by or it's a birdie in your radio.
