• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

What software are you trying to program with? This is a US radio

The only software you can program the CP200D with is MOTOTRBO which i have. But whenever i try to read or write to the radio, i get the Region unsupported error

Evidently you don't have the correct version of Mototrbo™ CPS. What part of the world are you in? If you're in the U.S. or Canada then you will need to contact Motorola and find out why they sold you the wrong region CPS. You shouldn't see that error unless there is a mismatch between the radio or CPS region.

Conventional - Firmware

There is R2.7.1 Digital firmware for CM200/300d and CP200d.

Thanks! I'll give Mother /\/\ a call. It's not showing up there for some reason. Only thing I see is my other firmware for XPRs.

Theres no site where i can download it for free? Or would i be able to perform the Region hack on this version?

You need to purchase it from Motorola. It's roughly $300 for a 3 year subscription. You can attempt to perform a region hack. Good luck! What region are you going to change it to, if you have no idea what region you're actually dealing with right now?

If im not mistaken, "AA" is the region code for North America so i would have to change it to that. But i have no clue how to perform the region hack on this version. Im running version 15.5

I searched Mototrbo CPS 15.5 and the first thing that came up on google is a download link to the EMEA version of the software. If this is what you downloaded (I'm not pointing fingers here) then this is the wrong software and you need to get the actual legit software from Motorola. Motorola part number is HKVN4362 and it's $169. You don't need to do any region hack for that CPS because it's the right version of software.

When i plugin my CP200D to CPS, i cant read it because it has a password from a preious owner. So i was tolds i can bypass the password by recovering the radio. So when i click recover, it comes back "No matching packages exist". How do i fix this?

It is showing a region error because your software is likely too old for the last time the radio was written. TT
