All of the sudden...6676

A path to Australia opened up tonight!
I caught Sydney VOLMET (VLS) on 6676 @ S7. Right before that, I noticed the signal on Honolulu VOLMET (KVM70) on 6679 got very strong as well. Having the SDR with its display showing adjacent frequency activity sure helps. :D

Now getting ZKAK Auckland, NZ VOLMET (6679) S5+

Looks like this one is H+20 / H+50 while Honolulu (KVM70 also on 6679) is H+00,25 / H+30,55

This isn't as unusual as you might think, although it's hard to gauge when you're halfway across the country. Morning propagation patterns are often different than nighttime - daylight comes at different times, and sometimes paths between 2 points change, especially as we just changed seasons.

I know many DXers that work in the early mornings to take advantage of quieter conditions or trying to get that elusive Asian or Pacific station. Don't overlook this possibility, as we get closer to summer....

Thanks Mr. Bubble Burster

Don't forget - I'm a "virgin" to most of this and thrilled to hear these! I will keep what you said in mind next time though.

Thanks Mike!
