Allegan County TRS Update

From a source in Allegan County, he indicates that they will start the implementation of the new radio system this month. Testing was conducted last month and results were favorable. Anyone with more up-to-date information, please let us know if you are hearing any activity on this new TRS?

I was in the area about 2 weeks ago, I heard traffic still on the 155.550 system. I got talking to a volunteer FD who stated that they are either 1 or 2 towers short still on making this thing a reality(just writing what the reply was to my question). I was told that probably just PD would start out on the system when it goes live and most rural FD would probably not convert to it for sometime. One of things that bothers me about these 800 systems is that I don't think much for thought goes into figuring out what they really want to put on the system when they start in the engagement process. I would think if your going to spend the $$'s to have these systems then some sort of thought process should be put in place in what is required and how you want to use it before you get involved with it.
