Allegheny County P25

In looking at the freqs, the new system that was posted today appears to be a P25 system for City Public Works, and I'd assume special events. I'm guessing the DMR system will become depreciated soon, if it hasn't already. I'm going to be monitoring the P25 system for the next few days to see if there's any activity.

Just a hunch, but I'm thinking the UHF simulcast site for the City may be Site 1.10 on this system.

If the Acrisure/DPW is still active you will know on Sunday since there is a Steelers game. Extremely active during home game. Unfortunately, my location in North Fayette, I can't pick up the site consistently.

I see that Location 2 on the FCC license is pined in Ingomar. I believe this site is actually in Banksville based on the address listed on the FCC License report is 1485 Crane Ave Banksville Park.

Can someone on Tuesday monitor the DPW system for any activity. Should be quiet on Monday due to the holiday. Also, you state no real voice but it wasn't encryption by chance?

I'll monitoring the 800MHz P25 system the next few days to see what I get. It's pretty weak at my location at about -105dbm, so I'm not sure how good my hits will be.

Do you know the DEC or HEX on those TGs? I wonder if they will use the same TGs on the new system from the DMR system.

Odd that they would build a new NXDN system for the stadium and a P25 system for DPW and just abandon the DMR system...

There have been talks about upgrading the Allegheny County system for a while. Allegheny County Emergency Services facilitated all agencies in the county to receive 8 radios of the APX flavor.

They are UHF2 and have TDMA, AES, OTAP, OTAR among other options.

My guess is this is just the beginning of a slow roll out of a countywide Phase 2 system with LAW, EMS, and FD on UHF Sites and DPW on 7-800 sites.

I have a relative that works for the City DPW . I asked him to look into this as the DMR system is still pretty new.

NXDN is FDMA so there will be just one LCN# for each freq. since there are not two slots like DMR. Here they are:

It is possible that they are going to use some of the DMR Con+ freqs for another purpose now that Acrisure is no longer on the system. Just a guess

So it seems the stadium and the city radio have parted ways.
I guess the city turbo system is turned off since it is advertising P25.
WOW!?!
I don't understand. P25 is expensive. 800 does not fit with the single band 450 radios everyone has.
Turbo seemed to be a good fit for refuse, DPW and maybe the stadium. These are not mission critical.
I guess now the P25 can be in the consoles at the 911 center and the dog catcher can get off 453.525.

Those NXDN frequencies are not licensed to the city. I don't recognize them from the old city turbo system.

As of 10 AM, 10/10/2023, DPW and Acrisure is still on the DMR CON+ system, as I just heard them. I am listening to it now on one radio and I have the new P25 frequencies scanning in another radio. TG 26604 was just active on the P25.
