I was working through the FCC database this morning and came across two frequencies in a thread on another forum. The post stated:

471.2125 P-25
471.2375 p-25

these are swat t/a channels. Need a digital capable scanner to monitor.

Allegheny County Swat Frequencies? - Hoopie World Discussion Forum

These two freq's do not appear in the RR database or other Internet lists (Note: Freq is in WPASCANNER without reference to usage). They are in the FCC database for Allegheny County.

I don't have a digital scanner. Anybody know about these frequencies? If so, does Pittsburgh or AC SWAT use digital now? Haven't heard any SWAT activities on Channel 7 in the past week or so.

I checked with a few of my buddies from S.O.D.and they are still using channel 7 and 8 for drug busts, etc. Actually I heard Willie quite a few times on Friday.

The two P25 channels are "Homeland Security" channels assigned for Pittsburgh used in case of terrorist attack or anything related to the such.

I believe Pgh Police SWAT and County SWAT are using NEXTEL for talkaround/on site ops. Cheaper to use for privacy means without having to buy new encrypted radios. Pretty hard to monitor NEXTEL unless you want to spend a few thousand for a monitor.

I have heard city on ch 7 using t/a during swat incidents.. Usually a tell tale is can only hear one side of a conversation.. the other unit is on t/a and unless you are close you wont hear it.

Those freqs that are p-25 i believe are for the county swat.
