Surprised that nobody has mentioned that Allen Co. Fire Dispatch and the County Fire Departments went silent on VHF on 154.010 Allen Fire Red & 154.415 Allen Fire White (Nobody really has used the White Channel since 800 became available to everyone) a little while back? With their move to 800.

The lie about keeping it simulcasted to VHF & 800 didn’t last long, no surprise there. I didn’t believe it when they said they would back then. As soon as everyone was ready to go they pulled the plug.

When did they stop?

It’s probably been close to a month or so ago. They are all the same system now as Fort Wayne Fire, Police, TRAA EMS, Allen County SD, New Haven PD and all town marshals have been encrypted for some time. Guess who’s next!

This whole thread is NOT true. I heard ACFD this week on 154.010.

... and the AC Fire Disp TG, along with a handful of other FD TGs on the Allen Co P25 system hasn't been encrypted for at least 2 years now.

Living in next door County have a Plectron and a pager on 154.010, other equipment on 800 plus text alerts and recording of each department dispatched! Believe me they are generally no longer simulcasting dispatches on VHF. Only department being simulcasted is Churubusco it is still being done between Allen 800 & Whitley Co. VHF Fire for Allen County runs. But not on the former Allen County Fire 154.010

Yes, I agree currently none of the regular Allen County 800 Fire Ops Channels are not encrypted but the Tac channels are and have been. I’m just saying they will eventually follow suite with FWFD and will be encrypted no matter what you want to believe.

I just programed 154.010 into my mobile scanner. AC Fire Disp still alive and well with a 203.5 PL. Just heard Disp talking to New Haven Fire 11.

As far as the P25 system, TG2041 AC Fire Disp (I believe, if memory serves correct), -WAS- encrypted for years. The turned the encryption OFF on that channel a couple years ago. Ask a DB Admin if you need to know the specific dates of when those changes happened.

Disregard on my first post about Allen Co. Fire VHF! It is not silent!

And west-pac, I apologize I was incorrect.
I checked after our conversation and found that both my Plectron and pager charger had been unplugged and not by me! Pager battery was dead of course.

I plugged them both back in and was receiving traffic again.

They are still simulcasting on both AC Fire 800 Dispatch and AC Fire VHF Dispatch.

But I was also told once there is a major failure of the VHF equipment that they will discontinue simulcasting. Some are also using status buttons so not all radio traffic is being transmitted as in the past.

I apologize for any confusion I might have caused.

I just heard an all-call on 154.010 saying "attn all northwest personnel, 800mhz pagers are now in service." x2.
