Located within the Boulder Ranger District, the Johnny Park Area (FDR 118) - House Rock (FDR 119) offers over 14 miles 4WD roads, with the main road connecting Big Elk Meadows with Meeker Park. Near Meeker Park FDR 119 turns north & climbs to House Rock before continuing on to Pierson Park. Several side roads and trails are available. FDR 118 follows the northern boundary of the Boulder Ranger District. FDR 119 is also in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District.

To reach the east end, travel along US 36 west from Lyons, and turn toward Big Elk Meadows on FDR 118 to get to Coulson Gulch Trailhead.

To reach the west end, turn off CO 7 in Meeker Park onto Cabin Creek Road.
