Alpha Tag on Raspberry PI

Currently using RadioFeed to upload to Broadcastify with a RS Pro-652 and using the programming cable to get alpha tags for the transmissions as well. Would like to free up my computer and change to a raspberry pi but not sure if there is anyway to keep alpha tagging since that really helps show which channel the transmission is on. Anyone had any luck or any thoughts?

The programming cable appears to be a standard FTDI serial converter.
I would guess some simple scripting would be able to capture the data if you were able to monitor the output from a serial terminal.

I don't have this scanner but that is the direction I would suggest.
