I am currently doing a major update to my config file for my BCD325P2.

1. What do you do as far as alpha tags and having a standard?
User / Area = ATC Launceston
Or
Area / User = Launceston ATC

2. Do you add digital to the alpha tag of those frequencies that are and do you also add the mode?
I have some where the same name (VK7RJG in this example) carries multiple modes.
VK7RJG(D)
Or
VK7RJG(DMR)
Or
VK7RJG(DMR) and VK7RJG(NXDN)

3. Do you add the name of the group in to the alpha tag of the channel?
Group = TasRail
Channel = TasRail Mt Arthur
Or
Channel = Mt Arthur

4. Do you add the site for all frequencies or only the ones where it is required, such as two repeaters that carry the same traffic?

5. I currently have a number of frequencies that are unknown users. I have these in a seperate system, with a QK enabled. How do you managed these? Do you also setup alert tones for these?

Quick few questions before an answer….

Where are ya located?

What agencies do you want to listen to?
Law, OEM, EMS, Business, we Air, Rail, etc…..

Is your scanner used mainly in a single county or town, or do you travel a wide area and want to listen to multiple counties & towns?

What software are you using to program your radio??

Where are ya located? - Tasmania Australia

What agencies do you want to listen to? See below. We have the statewide TASGRN but it is mostly encrypted.

Is your scanner used mainly in a single county or town, or do you travel a wide area and want to listen to multiple counties & towns? Mostly in Launceston. I do have TASGRN sites for other areas programmed but locked out. If I do vist other areas, I would mostly be searching, not scanning,

What software are you using to program your radio?? FreeScan
