Always getting strange noise from Lakewood

Is it just me or does anyone else always get strange noise from the lakewwod system? I always find myself locking it out due to all the noise.

The noise is probably from the talkgroups using AEGIS digital voice which can not be monitered.

How do I know what TG's are using so I can lock them out?

No agencies in Lakewood are using AEGIS. But maybe Ohio knows something we don't.

But there are a few sprinkler control id's and stuff that just transmit data, especially during the day, very easy to lock out. Are you using win96 to program? if so it's even easier.

I would say just monitor there channels and record them. Most of the other trunked systems people have labeled already on RR database which are which. But the lakewood system has not been yet. So once you figure them out you could sbumit them so everyone else will know too.

Lakewood / West Metro are loud and clear here as well tonight, nice to have the Wheat Ridge patches also as an additional perk.

Its mostly in the middle of the night. I tend to sleep with the scanner on and always finding myself woken up by strange data sounds from Lakewood,

Something has been causing noise on the CLEER Freq. (UHF) lately, and so it also gets retransmitted on the trunked system patches. It sounds like a loud hum but does change somewhat. Maybe thats what you are hearing.
I have had to lock it out the last few nights to keep from getting blasted out of bed.

I'm always on-shift until 01:00; never heard what you describe; I can only conclude that my radio came with Jim's file loaded, and he's already locked 'em out ! Mt Morrison comes in blasting a 5-bar signal; you might try reprogramming to only receive Mt Morrison.
