I purchased an AM/FM scanner coupler for my 2003 Ford Taurus. However, when I got the radio pulled out of the dash, I found that the car's antenna cable was not plugged in to the radio, it was wired in! Therefore, I couldn't connect the coupler. Does anyone know if there is somewhere in the cable line where I can install this coupler? Thanks in advance for your help!

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Go to your local car audio shop. They can strip a bit of the antenna insulation back and install the connector of your choice. That's one way.

pull the passenger side "kick" panel and the connector should be either behind the panel or under the carpet on the passenger side.
Taurus coupler
I have an '01 Taurus and the guts of the radio are in the trunk over the driver side wheel well. I spent $30.00 for two adapters for the radio/coupler fittings and wasn't happy with the result. Might be my coupler but I found no change in the FM reception and a significanly degraded AM reception. Scanner reception wasn't very good either. I gave up on it. I'm getting better scanner reception with the stock rubber ducky from a hand held stuck on the windshield with a device available on the net that uses a couple of suction cups.

Do yourself a favor and don't use the AM-FM-Scanner coupler, use a purpose built scanner antenna instead. Those couplers work very poorly for scanners and it will degrade your AM-FM reception. Go for a low profile mag-mount, or even better a drilled in NMO mount type antenna, it will work a whole lot better!
If you really need to use the coupler, Ford usually has a connecter behind the passenger side kick panel as pitcockm says. You may need an adaptor for that though, my Expedition from a couple years back had a connection that would not fit the normal Motorola antenna connection when I installed an XM radio, I had to buy a special adaptor kit at a car stereo shop for about $30.
