Am I doing this right?...

I'm programming for my new Pro 95 using Win95. I input all frequencys in Bank 1 for the Orange County, FL Motorola System. I am now putting in the Group ID's. Does it matter in what order I put these in? Itl ooks like I get 20 ID's with 5 banks for a total of 100 ID's I can input. Will the radio recognize these ID's when receiving the radio signal. Also, when I put in the 28 frequencies in Bank 1, only one is a control channel. When I scan, will it only see the control channel, and move to the different frequencies, or should it move to different bank locations for the frequencies. I don't know if what I'm saying makes any sense, but I'm learning. Thanks.

sounds like your doing everything right, and to answer your question... YES, the radio will recognize every TG ID you put in the scanner in closed mode. in open mode... it will recognize every TG ID even if it is not programmed into your scanner.

if you run into trouble, send me an email at Admn0140434@aol.com with your p95 file attached and i will see where you are going wrong. otherwise, it sounds from my end that you are doing it right.

If you put in only the primary and alternate control channels, it will take up less channels, the scanner has no use for the voice channels. You don't have to put the TG ids in any order, just group them the way you want them grouped. Put each primary and alternate control channel in the same bank. You can mix conventional and trunked, but you can not mix 2 different trunked systems (with exceptions! ) in the same bank. Thanks for your help. I guess I just wasted time typing in all the frequencies beyond the control frequencies. How do you ever know for sure if you have the latest talkgroups to work with?

all you gotta do is monitor this website! When you type in the URL, look at the left of the screen, it will say TRS Updates. If your system on the update list, it has been updated, usually with talkgroups! :wink:
