AM on scanner - what's going on here?

Live in a small town with one AM station, at 1240 khz.

I can get the station crystal clear at 951.0125 mhz.
What's up?? Some weird mirror image?

I hear STL's in Central PA all the time. My friend works on them so he taught me a little about them, too. Just out of curiosity, How far away do you live from the studio?

I live 1 mile S of the studio ( and several hundred feet higher). Their broadcast antenna is 1 mile E of the studio.

Thanks guys for the clue in on STL's, led to some interesting reading today.

Kind of a cool unexpected functionality of the new BC346XT too, and one that I wouldn't have found without Close Call.
