I have no sound recording, but sounds a bit like '0livia' (random notes on a flute)
Neither Multi psk or sorcerer are coelating it so all I get is gibberish.

At 14.105, could be packet, Vara-HF, ARDOP, Pactor, or ?

VarAC is not a digital mode. It is a keyboard-to-keyboard communication tool that uses Vara-HF. And, while, VarAC defaults to 14.105 MHz on 20m, it is not the only digital communications that uses that frequency.

Based on my usage and observations, VarAC is THE dominant “activity” on 14.105. This was true even during the recent CQ WW RTTY contest as I noticed RTTY on both sides of 14.105 but not directly on top of VarAC … all well-behaved.

I do believe this is Vara. I downloaded all the stuff I could find about this. Probably replace FT8.
Its pretty impressive.
I have only heard the mention of it, so I'm jumping on the bandwagon.

VaraHF made a big difference in the Winlink world because it's not "proprietary" like Pactor IV and it more robust than Winmor. I was first exposed to VaraHF through my use of Winlink.

Then, Irad Deutsch 4Z1AC figured out how to use VaraHF for keyboard-to-keyboard communications. VarAC came along at the right time to scratch the itch that some hams had for more personal QSOs than just callsign, grid, and signal report.

Replace FT8? Though VarAC includes callsign and signal report, it is quite different with its focus on keyboard chat and messaging. And I think there are one or two hams out there who still want the "callsign, grid, and signal report" function and style of FT8.

Vara has all the functionality of FT8, Call, grid, RSSI logging, Keyboard chat, and file transfer.
The chirp rate of the OPSK at least matches FT8 for noise, weak signal, and great with QRP.
FM mode does well on 6 and 2 meters also.
It is no slower than FT8 and ARRL accepts contest logs officially.
Method to my madness is "WHY NOT".
Connects to Icom and Kenwood, and a host of SDRs.
