There is also a ham radio category in the Synaptic Package Manager that can help you to find ham radio software.

Now if only there were Linux trunktrackers and ACARS decoders....

That is what is really needed. I see Linux users say all the time "I can do in Linux whatever you can do in Windows." Ummm, you can do a lot in Linux yes, but you can't trunkscan in Linux, yet.

Be nice to see some scanner software for Linux actually. Makes me wish I knew something about programming, alas, I'm just a network geek.

I picked up that issue when I was in B&N last week.


Interesting writeup on Xastir. I had to go get VMWare and Ubuntu so I could play with it.


If all you know how to do is surf the internet, I would avoid even trying it. There is alot of commands that need to be used.
