Announcement:
If you're in or around the Tulsa area ---
The Tulsa Amateur Radio Club has an amateur radio "Technician" (entry level) license class now forming.
The class will meet Monday evenings from 7 to 9 PM starting January 9th.
Location is Keplinger Hall, Room U1, Tulsa University. That's the Engineering building at 5th & Harvard.
Contact Jay, AD5PE, at ad5pe@arrl.net
The class is $5 for the whole shebang, and for $20 you get the class and a $20 textbook (the fee covers handouts and such).
There is no Morse Code requirement for a Technician license.
There will also be a "General" (mid-level) license class that will start after the Technician class ends. Generals have access to the HF bands below 30MHz (shortwave) but currently that license still requires Morse Code - However, the FCC is currently considering a rules change that "may" eliminate that requirement. I'll post that here when I hear a final decision.
