I am shipping a radio to my son (also an amateur radio operator) who lives in the Flagstaff area. I would like to preload the memories (2 m/70cm) with the active repeaters that would be of use in the area. Is there an amateur radio operator here that could verify the active repeaters and simplex frequencies for me?
Thanks!

John

The last I knew there were 4 ARA (Arizona Repeater Association) repeaters in Flagstaff. I used both the 2m machines in the past, I can't vouch for the 440 machines. I wound program these 4 and go from there:

146.980 - 162.2
147.140 - 162.2
448.475 - 100
448-875 - 100

My 10 year old repeater directory also shows an NAU ham club open repeater on 145.410 - 151.4

There are probably other repeaters, but I paid my dues to ARA for a few years and used their machines. I can't help you with commonly used simplex frequencies.

Also be advised there may be MANY repeaters that your son will be able to hit that are on high mountain tops. I am in Tucson and can hit repeaters as far away as Globe, AZ (somewhere around 118 miles away)! And I have no fancy equipment and my antenna is only 10 feet off of the ground!!!

Some of those 440 frequencies listed are closed, private systems. It probably wouldn't be a great idea to program those in, since non-members aren't generally welcomed on those.

The "O" in the comments section of the repeater is supposed to mean "Open" repeater - BUT, I do not live in the area, so I couldn't tell you.

Yes, I looked at the link, and several repeaters listed on that web site as "O" are definitely NOT.

There is enough in error in the AZRepeaaters.net data that I'd disregard it completely, and rely instead on the link to the Arizona Repeater Owners Frequency Coordination Committee: http://www.azfreqcoord.org/440/70cm.pdf

Very good , sir, and thank you for the link. And here I thought AZrepeaters was the best site to go to!
