If you are studying for your "TECH" Amatuer License, then you need to study everything that is in the book. Yes frequencies are a big part of the test, you must know where you can operate and where you cannot!

hope that answers your question

Good luck on the Test!

As already stated, study ALL material in the study guide.
Knowing the frequencies is a big part of communicating,
especially to know if you are within the band your license
allows you to be using.
Most radios can be modified to tranmit out of the ham bands
and if you pick up a used radio that has been modified, it would
be good to know if your within the band plan or you could be
in trouble with the FCC.
Put forth the effort to become the best you can be on communicating
and you can be a knowledgable person when it come to helping
others when they have questions.
No one person is an absolute expert on radio communications, but
the combined knowledge of all makes us a great mind.

Good luck in December and do the best you can.
